Monday once
again and again it is hard to believe that
we are half way through the session and,
even more surprising; only four days away
from the end of camp!
The Mini
campers spent all day in camp
today, except for the Sixes who were lucky
and got to go to Piscine de Nyon in the
afternoon. We were watching the skies
closely, but thankfully those grey clouds
passed over quickly and no one got wet. The
rest of them were busy in Arts and Crafts,
Drama and Dance practicing their dances and
skits for Special day. But all of the Mini
campers are going to be very busy with
excursions over the next few days- Coppet
Boat Ride, the Nyon pool and Playground, and
Signal de Bougy to name a few, so they will
all get to go on quite a few trips this
week,
The Eight year
olds did go to Signal today, they spent the
morning there and went straight to bowling
after lunch. Unfortunately they didn’t have
time to make bread but they did visit the
goats, horses, rabbits and the large pig in
the Petting zoo. They spent a while in the
playground, and also visited the
amphitheatre and the fairy garden. The
bowling in the afternoon was a little bit
hectic because there were 60 campers there
from Village Camps alone, but it was still a
huge success.
Most
of the groups also got their photos taken
today and the rest we will do tomorrow; over
the course of the week in Arts and Crafts
they’ll be given frames to decorate which
they can put the photos in and take home at
the end of the session as souvenirs.
Hopefully they will be ready by Thursday,
but if not then they will be able to take
them home after the special day on Friday.
Don’t
forget parents are invited from 14:45 on
Friday to take part in our special day
‘Lights, camera, action’. Please use the
top parking on the Route de Jura,1296 COPPET.

yes, I’ve been working here for quite a
while!
Interesting
facts about Rob:
-
He is one
of the Village Camps old timers, and has
been coming back to work here each
summer for years.
-
He is a
qualified teacher originally from
England but currently lives and works in
Mexico city. He has been one of our

qualified football coach and a qualified
rugby coach, he is also trained to
referee both those sports.
-
On a
recent trip to Australia, he went
skydiving, shark diving, he went on a
night swim on the Great Barrier Reef,
and went bungee jumping three times,
which makes him hands down the craziest
counselor at camp.
