Well the prediction of rainy weather thankfully did not come true today, apart from a few showers this morning it wasn’t too bad at camp, overcast and grey most of the day, but none of our groups got too wet, either here on campus or on any of the excursions we had planned. The first day of excursions did not really go to plan because of certain rainy-day schedule changes that we made, but all the groups scheduled to leave camp did so; the Four year olds still went on the boat ride to Coppet this morning, the Seniors still got to go bowling in the afternoon (and again the counselors were shamed by their kids). One of the other senior groups was scheduled to go sailing this afternoon in Divonne, and because the sun decided to come out in the afternoon they had a wonderful time.

Although the Six year olds weren’t able to go to either Nyon piscine as planned, or even the indoor pool in Geneva which would normally be our back-up, they were able to go to the Natural History Museum in Geneva and saw the two headed turtle and all the other exhibitions. Unfortunately the Eight year olds and Nine year olds didn’t go to Trelex today because even without rain it would be a little muddy. They strayed on campus and did dance, arts and crafts, and since they had the opportunity to decide what they wanted to do, they also played a lot of Six Square.

On campus things were fairly quiet, Dance, Drama, and the Gyms were all busy with campers eager to be inside, and there was also a group in our Pottery class today, decorating and painting their own little statues of a dog with a big juicy bone in its mouth. The little figurines will have to be fired in the kiln in Coppet and the campers in those groups that did pottery today should have them back by Friday.
