Session 3 of Village Camps!! It is hard to believe that it is already the last session for this summer, where did the time go?? A big welcome to all campers who were not here for the first or second session, they were both huge successes and hopefully this session will be equally enjoyable. The weather looks like it might change a little bit for these last two weeks, it will probably rain during the week and the temperature will be lower.

The Introduction meeting that we have on the first morning of every session was followed by Ice-Breaking games and then the different ages split up, the Mini campers went to mini Olympics, and played a series of games on the main field. The intermediates and seniors went off to one of the numerous other on-campus activities: Dance, Drama, Arts and Crafts, Gyms 1 and 2, Music, Luna Field and various others. Tomorrow the excursions will begin, we have groups going to the pool at Nyon, the 4’s are going on the boat from Coppet to Nyon, some of the intermediate groups are going to the Forest in Trelex, and the Seniors are going Sailing in the Lac de Divonne and bowling in the afternoon. Although we are expecting the weather to change a bit hopefully not too many of these trips will be disturbed.

All the campers received their t-shirts today, as well as caps for all of those who ordered them, (if you didn’t order a cap for your child they are still available to buy in the office.) Apart from the unavoidably chaotic arrival and departure periods, today was an exceptionally smooth first day of camp, which I think is a good omen for the rest of the session; hopefully the weather won’t affect us too much. We have a great two weeks planned, and hopefully everyone will make the most of these last session and they will make a great ending to what has been a great summer!!
