Well it was a
wet day here in camp, thunder and lightning
in the morning and consistent rain, but a
quick switch to our rainy day schedule
ensured that not too many of our activities
were disrupted. The excursion schedule did
change - t he
seven year olds did not go to Signal for the
day but rather went to the Natural History
Museum in the morning and were on campus for
the afternoon. Unfortunately the Lac de
Divonne was a bit rough for sailing today so
one of the senior groups had to return to
campus early this morning, and the second
group that was scheduled to go to in the
afternoon went instead to the indoor pool at
Varembe with the Eight year olds.
The four year
olds spent the day up in Signal de Bougy,
visiting the animals in the small zoo,
playing in the enormous playground, and of
course, baking their own brioche, and
hopefully they will have baked a bit extra
for the rest of us! The nine year olds were
scheduled to go hiking in the Jura Mountains
today, but understandably they were not too
enthused about the idea, so instead th ey
went to the Olympic museum in Lausanne for
the day. After a video presentation and a
tour of the museum they played a few games
outside, (while the weather allowed) and
then returned to camp at half past two.
Meanwhile SA1
and SB1 went to Gland for the afternoon to
bowl, and once again the counselors were
(surprisingly) outclassed by many of the
campers. It is strange to think that this
second session is almost over, but we still
have special day to look forward to and the
weather tomorrow should be much better. I
hope you are all planning to stop by at some
point, from what I’ve seen in Dance, Drama
and Music, the special day skits and songs
will be fantastic! A Demain!
