Wow! It is hard to believe that we are now half way through this summer at Village camps- there is only this week left in the second session and then only two weeks after that! Everybody seems to be aware of this and is taking advantage of camp while they can- today was a great day with lots of activities, and the camp was quite calm since so many campers have left since last week.

The Eight year olds had a great day- they went to Signal de Bougy in the morning, and although they didn’t have time to make bread today, they did get to visit the petting zoo with the ridiculously large pig, the horses and goats, and of course the rabbits and hamsters. They also got to visit the fairy garden, play in the huge playground, and put on their own production for the counselors on the spacious open-air stage. It might not be a world-renowned venue, but at least they were able to practice their stagecraft before Special Day, and the space and acoustics make it a great place to simply stop, sit down, and scream/yell for a while.

Most of the Senior groups went to the pool in the morning, and thankfully the weather stayed nice, the other Senior groups either went swimming in the afternoon or went swimming when they fell out of their boats into the Lac de Divonne. There were also quite a few groups who went bowling in the afternoon, but the counselors and the people at Castel Bowling - all of whom are incredibly helpful - ensured it was an enjoyable, if slightly chaotic, afternoon.

The Six’s went to the pool after lunch with one of the other Senior Groups, and some of the other seniors spent the afternoon making their own tie-dye shirts. Most of the Mini campers and intermediate groups stayed on campus today in Arts and Crafts, Drama, the Gyms, or Dance, practicing their fairytale dances and skits for Special Day!!

Don’t forget to join us on Friday afternoon from 14:45 for the “Fairy Tale Day” performances, and also call Andrea at 022 776 33 33 if you would like to sign up for 3rd session starting next Monday!
