Welcome to Session 2 of Village Camps!! And an especially big welcome to all the campers who were not here last session and just joined us today. It was quite a cloudy start to the second session, and did start to rain late in the afternoon, but it was a very successful day nonetheless. It being the first day, there were no off-campus excursions so there was no respite to be found in Nyon Pool, or the bowling in Nyon for any groups, but all the on campus activities were buzzing!

The Introduction meeting this morning was followed by Ice-Breaking games and then the different ages split up, the Mini campers went to mini Olympics, and the intermediates and seniors went off to one of the numerous other on-campus activities: Dance, Drama, Arts and Crafts, Gyms 1 and 2, Music or Luna Field, to name a few. The Seniors also got a healthy dose of Six Square today, for any new parents, Six Square is the traditional trademark Village Camps game (all campers become experts so ask your child for an explanation of the rules.)

We handed out Village Camps t-shirts today to all the campers who were not with us last session, as well as caps for all campers who ordered them. The weather this week is supposed to be uncertain for the next few days, but hopefully by the end of the week we will be back to warm weather and a bit of sun!

Apart from the inevitably hectic arrival and departure periods this morning and this afternoon, this first day went very smoothly again and hopefully that’s a good omen for the rest of the session. There are lots of activities and excursions planned and if this session is as good as the previous one, then campers and staff alike will have a wonderful two weeks!
