Fortunately
for all of us here at camp, the bad weather
and rain that was supposed to arrive today
has held off, so it was another wonderfully
sunny day here in Coppet. The four year
olds, who were at Signal de Bougy for the
day, baked bread in the morning, played on
all of the slides and games in the
playground, and of course they visited all
of the animals in the mini-zoo, and of
course, the fairies in the rose garden. The
Seniors and 8 year olds were lucky and spent
the afternoon at the Piscine de Nyon,
sunbathing, swimming in any one of the three
pools or playing on the volleyball and table
tennis courts.
The
mini campers held the Mini-Olympics in the
main field today, complete with multiple
events, prizes, and even an Olympic torch!
It turned out to be an incredible success,
much appreciated by all contestants!
The Senior groups and the intermediates were
busy with different activities today,
including ‘Tchoukball’- a not very well
known, complicated ball game involving two
teams, two goals, a rule against moving with
the ball, and a tight bouncy net stretched
over the mouth of the goal, which can make
scoring a little bit tricky…
In Drama,
Music and Dance preparations for special day
are now well under way, the skits, songs and
dances for the campers (as well as the
counselors) have been written and will be
practiced over the next couple of days,
hopefully to be ready for Friday and the
Parents, we all look forward to seeing you
there!

Interesting
facts about Helena:
-
In September
she was awarded a scholarship by the British
Council and traveled to Berlin to do a
project on the political views of young
people.
- She has come to work in Switzerland partly
because she wishes to improve on her already
impressive language skills, and partly
because she wanted to escape the British
weather! |
