We are now approaching the half-way point of
the first session and with the lovely
weather today it was another very enjoyable
day here at Village Camps. The Five year
olds and seven year olds spent the morning
relaxing at the pbasketballool in Nyon, the
first day that it has been warm enough to go
there.
The seniors
spent the afternoon making and testing
boomerangs on the football pitch, and the
fact that many of the boomerangs failed to
return to the throwers was more than
compensated for by the incredible original
and colourful designs that the campers had
painted on them.
The nine year
olds went to Gland in the afternoon for a
few hour of Bowling, they enjoyed themselves
immensely
and,
like every year, they proved themselves to
be more talented than their counselors by
convincingly outscoring them. And SB1 were
on one of the more popular excursions to the
Lac de Divonne, where they spent the
afternoon sailing.
Even with all
the field trips that happened today, the
Village Camps campus was never the less very
busy today. Thankfully the w eather
stayed nice all day, so all of our sports
fields were bustling with activity, and as
usual Drama, Dance, Arts and Crafts and the
various other indoor activities were also
busy. This complete reversal in the weather
is definitely welcome, it does however bring
with it a whole new set of problems, the
temperature for tomorrow and the beginning
of next week is supposed to be very high, so
parents please make sure that your children
have a bottle of water and some sun cream in
their bags tomorrow.

Panda
Amir Ibrahim,
or ‘Panda’ as he is affectionately known
here at Village Camps, is this session's
counselor for the SA3 group.
Hailing from
Malaysia, this is Panda’s first year with us
at Village Camps and he is already a hit
favourite with the campers!
He just
graduated from his course in Leisure
Business Management from Manchester
Metropolitan University and plans to work
with children as a sports coach in the
future.
Panda plays
tennis, football, basketball and badminton,
but due a knee injury has been unable to
compete at any serious level for about a
year now. This, however, hasn’t
stopped him giving our seniors a run for
their money on the sports field!
